Beginner's Series 1: Start a hair diary
After enjoying short, hassle-free hair for a few weeks, it will dawn on you that you will have to take care of your hair and if you don’t know how you’re about to find out. There is an abundant amount of information on the internet and new information keeps pouring in day-after-day. It’s quite difficult and time consuming trying to keep up with everything you see and read so here’s a short series to help you figure out what you should pay attention to in order to save yourself a lot of time and effort.
Start a hair diary.
I know it may sound ridiculous but you’ll be getting to know your hair for the first time in its natural form and it’s going to take some time to understand it. So take the time to really look at it and how it behaves when you wet it with water and when you apply certain products etc. Take note of how your hair is responding when you use certain products and techniques to style it and write it all down.
The truth is that learning your hair will involve some trial and error because your hair is 100% unique. There’s no head of hair out there that is exactly like yours, so you have to take the time to understand yours. After some time you will begin to see what works and what doesn’t but if you don’t write it down, you’ll forget and have to start over or you’ll just keep making the same mistakes.
